Recipients of the Radio Auction night was held this month with a good crowd attending.

Melbourne Cup Breakfast was once again held in lovely surroundings. We also held a stall at the Sand Drags again this year.

Members this week visited the new St. Johns Ambulance Centre at the lower end of Hannan Street. The tour commenced with a briefing from Centre Manager Clint and a display of the state of the art communications system which links the centre, ambulances and the emergency department at the hospital giving the hospital advance notice of what is heading their way.

Clint then took members on a tour of the modern centre while the very obliging centre staff prepared a beautiful dinner. On display was the four wheel drive which was donated by BHP Nickel West and facilitated by former member Ian Stevenson and the Rotary Club of Boulder.

The Centre is a great new asset for the community and is an excellent workplace for the permanent and volunteer workforce that keep the service running.

September was a month of both elation from the result of the Radio Auction and sadness as we said farewell to our member Mike Clark and his wife Vicki who have now moved to Perth. We wish them well and to remember to visit us when they come to the Goldfields. Mike is a Past President of our club and a Paul Harris Fellow.

We also welcomed back President Adam Weaver and his wife Tanya who have just returned from their honeymoon after recently being married.
Congratulations Adam and Tanya.

District Governor Erwin Biemel's Visit.

Sunday 25th August was the annual Radio Auction Day. The on air auction was held in the studios of Radio West while the street carnival was held out the front in Egan Street. 6PR talk back radio host Steve Mills and Radio West presenter Glenn Wilson conducted the on air activities. Out in the street there were market stalls, bouncy castle, face painting and buskers. There was also vintage and classic cars on display. Auction items were also on display and could be bid on. The Radio Auction Car was on display, Miner Mouse came in to visit the Colouring-In competition. There was a good crowd in the street to join in the fun.

The 28th Auction was again a very successful fundraising event for local community organisations raising $80,000 for a range of projects. The Rotary Club of Boulder thanks everyone who helped make this year's auction a success.

Dinner for Rotarians and Masons.

Our members and local Freemasons had a joint dinner on the 13th at the impressive Freemasons Hall in Egan Street.

Organised by Craig, it was a great success, with around 40 people attending. We held our meeting in the supper room of the lodge and the Freemasons were invited to join us and many were duly fined for various transgressions, as is the normal Rotary way. After the dinner the Freemasons robed up in aprons and regalia from the different orders to show the history and colour of the masos. Doug Daws gave a brief address on the history and origin of the different Masonic Orders.

Saturday 22nd June was Changeover night and we welcomed new President Adam White and his Committee for the coming rotary year of 2013 / 2014.
